Important Dues Information

In accordance with Article XI.A.1 of the AFA Constitution and Bylaws dues collected on or after June 1, 2008 will be at the new rate of $43.00 per month. This means if you are on automatic payroll deduction, starting with your June 2008 paycheck $21.50 will be deducted twice per month. (This used to be $19.50). 

AFA-CWA will be contacting the US Airways (America West) payroll department to take care of the details to make this a smooth transition. 

Flight attendants who owe dues for periods prior to June 1 will still be billed at the $39.00 rate. 

If you would like to pay dues annually Article XII of the Constitution and Bylaws of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, allows any member to pre-pay their annual dues and receive a 10% discount. Our fiscal year is June 1 to May 31. The annual dues of $516.00 ($43.00 x 12) less the 10% discount of $51.60 are $464.40. To be eligible for the discount, this payment must be made in full PRIOR to JUNE 30, 2008. Please read these steps carefully. 

If your dues are currently payroll deducted automatically from your paycheck please notify the payroll department, in writing, to stop your union dues deduction as of June 2008. Section 29 B.4. of the America West Collective Bargaining Agreement states that any notice of revocation for automatic dues Check-Off must be in writing, signed by the Flight Attendant and delivered by certified mail to the Director of Payroll. Please mail a coy of your notification letter revoking your authorization for the  company to payroll deduct your dues with your check of $464.40 to Kevin Creighan at the address listed above. Please include your airline and employee C number. You may also pay the $464.40 in full online at www.afanet.org and click on “Pay Dues Online”. 

NOTE: Payment must be received prior to June 30, 2008. Payment received after June 30 will be returned to you and you will be billed $43.00 monthly.
